How Thane Portfolios Work

A Thane portfolio is a smart contract that mirrors the coins an influencer is currently talking about on their social channels. When you buy one portfolio token you instantly hold a slice of that basket—no manual trading required.
Launch
All coins the influencer is actively shilling are purchased equally by dollar value.
You start with a balanced basket—e.g. 5 coins → 20 % each.
Normal drift
Coin prices move independently, so weights diverge over time.
Your exposure changes naturally with market performance (Thane does not rebalance just because prices moved).
Token addition
Bot detects a new positive mention. Within 24 h the contract sells an equal $ slice of every held coin. Proceeds buy the new coin, giving it the same weight as its siblings.
The basket expands without you lifting a finger; existing coins are trimmed slightly to fund the newcomer.
Token removal
If a coin isn’t mentioned for X days (see Portfolio Detail page) it is fully sold. Proceeds are spread equally across the remaining coins.
Dead calls drop out, capital is recycled into the influencer’s current convictions.
Fallback to USDC
If all coins have aged out, the last one is sold into USDC. Portfolio sits 100 % in USDC until the influencer calls something new.
Inactive influencers can’t trap you—your value parks safely in stablecoins.
Portfolio update: batched on-chain within 24 h.
Gas: right now you’ll need a tiny amount of SOL in your Thane wallet to cover the on-chain transaction when you mint a portfolio token. Thane already covers every gas cost that happens inside the portfolio (adds, removals, rebalances). We’re rolling out gas sponsorship shortly, so even the initial mint will be free of network fees. Slippage control: large trades use TWAP orders to minimise price impact.
